How to Press the Straw into Round Bales?

Round bales are cylindrical bundles of straw or forage, commonly used for feeding livestock or for storage. They are typically made using a round baler, which rolls and compresses loose straw into tight, uniform shapes.
Step 1: Prepare the Straw
Ensure that the straw is properly harvested and dried to a moisture content of 13%–18%. This helps avoid spoilage or combustion during storage.
Remove large debris, stones, or moisture from the field to protect the machine and ensure bale quality.
Step 2: Feed Straw into the Round Baler
As the tractor moves forward, the round baler’s pickup mechanism collects the straw from the ground.
The straw is then guided into the baling chamber, where rotating belts or rollers begin to spin the straw into a circular shape.
Step 3: Compress the Straw
As more straw is rolled in, pressure builds up inside the chamber. The machine uses mechanical or hydraulic force to compress the straw tightly.
This step ensures a dense, durable bale that retains its shape during storage and transport.
Step 4: Wrapping the Bale
Once the bale reaches the desired size, the machine stops feeding and begins wrapping the bale using twine, net wrap, or film.
Wrapping helps maintain the bale’s shape and protects it from moisture.
Step 5: Eject the Bale
The rear door of the baler opens automatically, and the completed round bale is ejected onto the ground
The baler then resets and is ready to make the next bale.
